Oscar D. Quispe Escalante' s Bio
Oscar Escalante migrated to the United States seven years ago from Peru. The language barrier, culture, as well as adapting to the sudden lifestyle were all challenges he faced. Over time, Mr. Escalante has learned to adapt to the sudden changes and has reached out to new opportunities.
Mr. Escalante is a graduate of Montgomery College with an Associate Degree in Business. He is currently a marketing student of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. His future goal is to obtain a master’s in international business. His passion is to be able to learn about different cultures and economies around the world. Oscar hopes that he would be able to realize his dream of utilizing entrepreneurial approaches to improve education in developing countries.
Oscar’s other biggest passion is music. He plays a traditional instrument from South America called charango, a musical instrument with ten strings. He has performed in different cultural events such as the Inty Raymi at the National Museum of the American Indian, Folklife Festival, and Taste of Peru. Oscar would like to study music composition in the future to address social problems and change the world to a better place through music.
He hopes to bring his knowledge and experiences to both aid and tackle on new challenges. Therefore, Mr. Escalante is excited to be volunteering as a marketing assistant at L.I.F.E., Inc. to help people with disabilities be included in our community.
